saturdays are for electrocuting yourself

when you have six square feet of space to sew in, maneuvering is necessary.  things get tangled.

foot pedals that live next to each other get tangled as well, especially under the user's hasty foot.

kenny's power.  ellie's power cord.  for a solid ten seconds of i wonder why ellie's needle isn't moving?

luckily, some dumb ass left kenny's presser foot up.

saturday sewing is so relaxing.

  2. Please don't electrocute yourself. The world would be sooooo boring without a little balloonna in it. (wait, sorry, I didn't mean that YOU'RE little....I just meant everyone needs to read your blog and get a little taste of your awesome creations...oh whatever. internets make communication hard )

  3. Scary! What are the odds though of all those things being in those exact places? Too weird.

BTW, Sundays are for cutting your finger off. (Not completely, just a big slice. Don't try to remove caulk from tub with razor blade.)

I hope we all make it to Monday.

  4. Oh, this is scary! I need to rearrange my cables in the worst way, I am always shutting them in the drawers of my sewing desk. But I have not yet actually sewn any of them...

  5. Yeeew that is terrifying! It does leave me wondering though... were you a victim to limited sewing space or did you inadvertently prevent kenny from executing a well planned homicide? It is a sewing room, I'm sure there'd be some chalk nearby for an outline...

In other news, I did once manage to squash the jaffle iron cord in with my sandwich once. I did briefly wonder why it was particularly hard to close the latch but I'm never one for over thinking. It exploded in some impressive sparks when I went to get my sandwich... the iron was dead but my sandwich was delicious!

  6. You always knew those two were out to get each other. Maybe Kenny wiggled his pedal under your foot right when he had that cord where he wanted it.

  7. My favorite part of this whole story is that you call your machines by name. The things that I sometimes call my own machines are not repeatable in polite society.

  8. i usually stick to burning myself with the iron on saturdays. electrocution, though - now there's something i haven't thought of yet :)

  9. I agree with Amanda that this may have been attempted homicide. If your sewing machines are anything like mine then they are jealous creatures...

  10. Although if you had sewn the cable to the dress it would have looked pretty cool. Great for Halloween- 'electrowoman'?

  11. Crikey! (Australian exclamation) I did the same thing with my laptop and sewing machine on Saturday! My machine, while faithful, is very old and a bit broken - the needle does not disengage for winding bobbins. So I broke a needle and shorted my laptop by sewing the cord - woops!

  12. *Ahem* STOP ELECTROCUTING YOURSELF BECAUSE WHAT WOULD I DO WITHOUT YOUR BLOG POSTS?!?!?!

No, seriously, you definitely earned some serious pampering after that one. I am sending you hugs via FedEx.

  13. I shall look forward to the further adventures of Kenny and Ellie. The coloring in the photos is ominous and frightening, except that I like orange too much. I have cords all over the floors that are like snakes. They coil around my feet and ankles hoping for a spectacular fall. No room for sissies in the sewing room.
